When other blogs give you music categorically in Black & White, we provide the shades of grey. We’re interested in deep, new sounds and music that is forever pushing the confines of genre.
Firstly, let me just tell you that I don’t disagree with genre. Without the various musical genres that exist, I wouldn’t have found hundreds of the artists that I now listen to on a regular basis. My gripe is not with ‘genre’ but the confines it can create.
I see so many new artists including the tag ‘dubstep’ to the end of their web pages that it saddens me. Starting every track with a basic musical template can only lead to so much experimentation. So this blog is for artists thinking outside the box, that don’t just see genre in terms of black & white, but also the shades of grey in-between.
Grey Shading was initially the hobby project of one man, and still is, but now it welcomes contributors and guest posts, gradually building a collective of talented individuals determined to bring you the latest and greatest in electronic music.
